BOOK REVIEW: WHO MOVED MY CHEESE? BY SPENSER JOHNSON

BOOK REVIEW: WHO MOVED MY CHEESE? BY SPENSER JOHNSON
I read Who moved my cheese in an hour and this should be my 3rd time. It is a 95 page self help book written by Dr Spenser Johnson which illustrates how to deal with change.
Change, the only constant thing in this world is something most people dread or don't really know how to handle. Spenser Johnson in this book has given us a clear picture of an amazing way to deal with change.
SUMMARY
The book begins with a group of classmates who had a reunion and after catching up, discovered they were dealing with change one way or another and that's when one of them steps up and begins to tell a story (more like a parable) of four characters; two mice named sniff and scurry and two little people(the size of mice) named hem and haw.
They all lived in a maze, a labyrinth of cheese stations and their main aim was to find cheese🍰.
One day, they all stumbled upon cheese in a cheese station and decided to camp there and enjoy all the cheese for it was enough to last a lifetime.
The mice were more observant and noticed a great reduction in the cheese and as soon as the cheese was gone they quickly left to search for new cheese in the maze.
Sniff sniffed out to find the location of the cheese while scurry ran off in the direction of the cheese.
Meanwhile, the little people with their complex brains were shocked and began to rant after finding out there was no more cheese at that location. One of them screams "WHO MOVED MY CHEESE?"
The mice after getting lost numerous times and hitting dead ends finally find another cheese station with cheese far better than the ones they once had and quickly got settled but still scouted for new cheese in case the former calamity comes upon them.
The little people however, lamented and blamed everything around. They felt sorry for themselves and didn't want to go out to find new cheese because they felt entitled to that cheese and thought about how hard it'll be to find new cheese in the maze.
Haw later realizes how stupid he has been. He laughs at himself and decides to go to explore the maze after asking the question "what will I do if I wasn't afraid?"
Haw tries to convince Hem but Hem is very reluctant. Haw finally goes out into the maze and has a very wonderful experience.
He realizes so many things and usually writes on the wall to give Hem direction in case he decides to begin his search for new cheese. These writings became the famous handwriting on the wall in this book.

After sometime, Haw finds a cheese station (the same one sniff and scurry found). This cheese station has a ton of cheese(much larger than the former) and also contains varieties of cheese.
Now Haw has learnt more and constantly goes out to search for new cheese. He also hopes that one day Hem will learn from the writings on the wall and join him in the new cheese station.

THE HANDWRITING ON THE WALL
Here are some of the things Haw wrote on the wall:
Change Happens They Keep Moving The Cheese

Be Ready To Change Quickly And Enjoy It.
Again They Keep Moving The Cheese.

PS: IN THIS BOOK;
-Cheese is a metaphor for prosperity, success, good health, a job and all things humans want.
-The maze is a metaphor for the world we live in.
-The characters show how different people deal with change.

CONCLUSION
This book made me realise that there are so many writings on the wall which we can follow and also we can leave our own writings on the wall for others to follow.

I think you should get this book and read it for free by clicking here and searching for the book.
